Adding new hardware micro-architecture features to a cloud computing server requires testing both the functionalities and the performance of the new hardware mechanisms. However, there is a lack of representative benchmarks for performance evaluation of today’s computing environments, like cloud computing (which are not well-represented by the commonly-used SPEC integer and floating-point benchmark suites.). We designed a suite of cloud computing benchmarks for performance evaluation.
